Kimberly Harden, MAAT, ATR, MHCI
Registered Art Therapist
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
When contemplating going to therapy often times it can feel overwhelming with all the choices that are out there. What kind of therapist would best suit your individual needs and are they going to be a good match? Sometimes you might be unsure if traditional psychotherapy will work for you or if you will be able to open up to the therapist at all. Most people are unaware that art therapy is an option for them and are unsure what it even is. The search for the right therapist can lead to frustration and anxiety and can keep some from seeking help and moving forward in their mental health journey.
I utilize a client-centered and creative approach throughout my therapeutic process, to individualize each of my client’s journeys, based upon your unique needs and goals. You will have the opportunity to experience the creative process through art making and self-exploration, which gives new levels of communication and personal insight. Art therapy can provide you with a new non-invasive way towards processing and healing past traumas, developing coping skills, increasing emotional regulation and much more.
I strive to create an environment of safety, non-judgment, creativity and empathy. I hold the value of the importance of building our therapeutic alliance so you can talk, create, and achieve your goals with ease and comfort.
